Gross pay versus take-home pay

This converter calculates pay before taxes, benefits, retirement contributions or payroll deductions. For most wage earners, actual take-home pay depends on federal and state taxes, filing status, employer withholding and benefit choices. We intentionally do not present a gross-to-net estimate as an official tax calculation.

Comparing hourly and salaried offers

Convert two job offers to the same annual-gross basis. Remember to compare paid time off, unpaid time, bonuses, hours and benefits rather than looking only at salary numbers. A position advertised as hourly does not automatically guarantee a fixed number of hours each week.

How working weeks change the result

The work-week field is especially useful for part-year employment, seasonal positions and unpaid time off. Select your current pay period and edit hours and working weeks to match your situation.
